NativShark Day One Patch

Hello everyone,

First we want to thank everyone for the feedback and enthusiasm behind the launch. The response so far has been incredible to see and know that we are reading all feedback and discussing it internally.

As expected, no launch is perfect and we've had a few snags with ours. Here's a wrap up of our fixes for the first day.

Hotfixes

  • Made it so that dialogues can be completed without having heard the entire thing. This is a temporary fix to allow people to progress when dialogues are stuck. This seems to happen most consistently on Firefox and tends to resolve itself on refresh for other browsers. We are actively working on fixing this and hope to have a fix out soon.

System Updates

  • Fixed an issue where multi-factor authentication would behave inconsistently.
  • Fixed an issue where certain accounts could not use the system.
  • You can now view Using NativShark articles without needing to be logged in.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not change your notification settings.
  • Fixed an issue where swapping the male and female audio options in your flashcard settings wouldn't do anything.
  • Fixed an issue where the layout of the NativShark stats on the Roadmap page would break on iOS.
  • Fixed an issue where lesson flashcards could not be archived from the flashcard browser.
  • Time tracking should now properly track your time spent on lesson pages, dialogues, reviews, etc.
  • Overlay-chan now correctly highlights the Start Next Unit Button instead of the disabled Study Now button in certain circumstances
  • Fixed a minor issue where free trial accounts could not purchase yearly plans.
  • Added a tooltip to Overlay-chan in the context menu explaining what she does.
  • Added links to the "Support > Answers" section in the context menu. You can now quickly and easily view "Using NativShark Guides", "FAQ's", "View & Submit Feedback", "Official Roadmap".

Content Updates

  • Fixed several dialogues missing names (used to be A & B)
  • Fixed an issue where some kana images didn't make sense (though we will definitely miss the cauliflower scarf).
  • Fixed several missing sentence literals
  • Furigana in "Intro to onomatopoeia" lesson, 擬態語 (ぎたいご) wrongly said ちくちく
  • Fixed some missing furigana in the later units (80+)
  • Fixed minor highlighting issues. There are some sentences that are currently bugged being worked on.
  • Fixed missing audio on normal sentences and reference sentences (ones that have been seen in previous lessons). There are still some being found and worked on currently.
